District Health Boards New Zealand (DHBNZ) is the association of New Zealand’s 21 District Health Boards.
The organisation was established to be a forum for DHBs to collaborate on strategic collective activity at the national level aimed at building sector capacity and capability. DHBNZ is also the support agency that project manages the collective activity agreed by the DHBs.
This role is pivotal to the success of DHBNZ’s Employment Relations programme, as well as supporting other portfolios, programmes and projects as required.
The role provides support to Employment Relations staff by assessing and reporting on workforce information, risks and opportunities. The main areas of focus will initially be supporting collective bargaining by provision of costing information, and supporting project based analysis of sector terms and conditions of employment.
Major activities include establishing and maintaining templates for multi-employer collective agreements costing and ad-hoc one-off costing projects. The role also provides support to the Health Workforce Information Programme (HWIP) as required and will provide financial and management accounting advice to DHBNZ personnel as required for programmes and projects.
The person will hold a relevant tertiary qualification – ideally full member of the NZICA. Given the seniority of the role a significant level of experience in financial budgeting, forecasting and reporting is essential as is the ability to demonstrate experience/knowledge in:
Knowledge and experience of employment benefit costing and labour market comparison will be called upon regularly. Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and the resilience to work in high pressure environment are also necessary.
