HWIP is owned by DHB CEOs and governed by a Steering Group with DHB and Ministry membership. DHBNZ manages the programme on behalf of the DHBs.

A business unit within the Ministry of Health, the Clinical Training Agency provides funding for post Entry Clinical Training programmes. The CTA has identified the need to better understand and accurately plan for their future funding requirements.
