Future Workforce
Future Workforce is the DHB/DHBNZ strategic plan to progress the goal of sector wide development of the health and disability workforce. It focuses on DHB’s collective priorities and actions for health and disability workforce over the next 5-10 years.
Future Workforce identifies eight priorities for the development of the health and disability workforce:
- Fostering Supportive Environments and Positive Cultures
- Enhancing People Strategies
- Education and Training
- Models of Care
- Primary Health Workforce
- Maori Health and Disability Workforce
- Pacific Health and Disability Workforce
- Non-regulated Health and Disability Workforce
Future Workforce has an annual work programme. The work programme identifies priority projects across three work streams being
- Key workforces - a coherent response to development of key workforces inclusive of employment relations strategy and aligned to health and disability service direction
- Models of Care and Innovation - developing the workforce to support new models of care, service integration etc.
- Workforce Environment - Projects focusing on development of key system enablers supporting workforce change, for example, accurate health workforce data (Health Workforce Information Programme)
